In IELTS Writing test, Candidate is given 60 minute for this task.Candidates are required to write at least 150 words for Task 1 and at least 250 words for Task 2.


In Task 1, candidates are presented with a graph, table, chart or diagram
and are asked to describe, summarize or explain the information in their
own words.

In Task 2, candidates are asked to write an essay in response to a point of
view, argument or problem.

Essay topics:

  • Many people are intended to go abroad to travel to see what other countries look like. However, the places all around the world are looking more and more similar.What do you think is the effect cause the similarity? Do you think the advantages of this effect outweigh the shortages of it?

  • The development of technology changes the way people connect with each other. In which way the development of technology change the types of relationships that people make? It has positive or negative effect on the relationships?
  • Money for postgraduate research is limited. Some people think that financial support from governments should be only provided for scientific research rather than research for less useful subjects.Do you agree or disagree?
  • The 21st century has begun. What changes do you think this new century will bring? Use examples and details in your answer.
  • Some people say that advertising encourages us to buy things we really do not need. Others say that advertisements tell us about new products that may improve our lives. Which viewpoint do you agree with? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
  • Some people think that children should begin their formal education at a very early age and should spend most of their time on school studies. Others believe that young children should spend most of their time playing. Compare these two views. Which view do you agree with? Why?
